Prudential: The ‘what’ of Trusts – Discounted Gift Trust

In the third article of Prudential’s trust series, Technical Manager Helen O’Hagan makes the trust journey simpler and less complex. Last month she looked at loan trusts and this time she covers discounted gift trusts.

These can take different forms, but in this article they look at a ‘standard’ DGT and will cover:

W – why use a DGT
H – how to use a DGT
A – access for the settlor and beneficiaries
T – taxation of the trust
